On 3 March 2018 Carnival Lofts will be hosting the auction of the Summer 2018 race squad, there will be a total of 82 pigeons on auction from various lofts such as Gaddin Brothers & Charl Stander (12 pigeons and yes some close relatives to MIX as well as some others from them, there just is too much to say about the lofts of Gaddin Bros & Charl Stander and hey had you all listened for the last 10years and bought them up on the auctions when they were still available who knows so don’t let these ones slip out of your grasp!), Midlands Lofts (the loft that dominated some of the hot spots and 2055 is one of them, she is a daughter of the summer race winner in 2016 mated to the nomination ace bird in 2015, and was leading the averages going into the final if this is not class in the hand I have wasted 30plus years of my life trying to figure out what is class when it comes to racing pigeons, and yes she is definitely not the only one from Gavin and Jaco that will produce) , Triple J (Jurie Erwee I’m sure they are well bred even if we did not get pedigrees, handle them to get the feel of silky soft feathers), Hervormers (Ds Petrus Harmzen, he not only bred the winner but managed 4th and 7th position on the final! The winner is bred from an Alfons Klaas that not only has Victor winner of the 2011 MDPR but also a sister of Birdy in his pedigree!), Willie Munnik (some Hebberecht, some Birdy some Karel Clemens in there I see), Fouche Lofts (the siblings of these has done some serious damage in the TRPF), Golden Thread (Lou de Jager & Emile Slabber), Heerman & Gilbert (something special here if you know what to look for, handle them to see and if you do not trust your own hands just get one or two of them and see how they breed for you, I actually might admit I like a red pigeon after all!), Les Windle (Great one go down! Uncle Les seems to forget the pedigree I see), Marius Klingbiel (a grandchild of the famous 810 nogal!, the mother being the Hanover Combine winner from Andre Carelsen out of 810!) , Michel de Becker, Paul du Randt, Poggenpoel Lofts (Surely of the best from the Tri Loft champions and yes Marimba will be up for sale maybe someone can outbid me on this fine specimen, I know Jaquesco will go for Thriller the hen that flew 3rd final so maybe he will let Marimba go cheaply J), Webster Lofts again another no pedigree but what a champ in the hand, Ronnie Huebsch (SANPO Gold Medal Winner not too long ago), JBM Hertzog who dominated olr racing last year, Danie Hattingh (some very nice van Loon’s up for sale especially the grizzle I think)  and more, the German pigeons of Team Groene are all bred from international stock he purchased and left here with me to breed from as well as his 1st pigeon back is also from the daughter of 810 and nest mate to Marius Klingbiel pigeon. These are some seriously big names in the pigeon’s sport that will be represented on this auction so have a look maybe well not maybe I am sure you will be able to pick up a bargain on the day here at the lofts.

Wishing all our customers and friends a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2018!!!

Good day,

Well done to Jannie & Tersia Engelbrecht all the way from Lutzville in the Western Cape for winning the Winter Race 2017 Final flown from Middelburg 570km’s from Carnival Lofts, they are no strangers to not only scoring many top positions in the winter races all over South Africa but they also do brilliantly in the summer races, a proven loft with great genetics that performs well under any circumstances. The winner comes from a line of pigeons that has already won quite a bit of money for Engelbrecht Lofts at various one lofts the last few years and is as you can guess a Clausing cross! Another fact has just been proven on the final race again that is genetics that wins one loft race finals over and over again! Proven one loft race pigeons will improve your strike rate if you want to compete against the best in any one loft race!

2nd and 3rd position goes to another top loft, Out of Africa Lofts (Egbert O’Kelly) well done for again being on the podium!!!

The pigeon that flew 2nd position’s father bred the 2nd place Klapmuts Loft down in Cape Town and the mother to the 2nd position bred the winner at CPL lofts in Bloemfontein!

3rd position is bred from Ace Pigeon Winners Flight loft Bloemfontein mated to the 5th Ace Pigeon Carnival Lofts nothing more need to be said about the ace pigeons producing winners at one loft races!!

So do you want to win a final at a one loft race? Make sure you get your hands on some of the ace pigeons going up for sale all across the country in the next month or three from all the various lofts because I am certain that we will see babies from these pigeons in the near future entered again here at Carnival Lofts!!

06 April 2017 News 1 Winter 2017 Races

Winter 2017 CLRPC (Carnival Lofts Racing Pigeon Club) and winter series 2017 newsletter 1

Good day here from the lofts, it has been awhile since our last communication but from now on we will be in contact more often again, please note we do have a whatsapp group that we use for quick news snippets that we might not always load on the web or send out via email and if you wish to be added to this group please just reply back with your phone numbers then we will add you to the group. It is not a chat group and the only thing we try to post is info and news from the loft.

Well with the moult almost done except for some tail feathers and some of the last flights growing we have slowly started to get the pigeons up in the air, it will be another week or two before they will be ready for the first real road training flights but from next week we will load them in the baskets and just go and liberate them on the farm so they can fly back to the lofts and get familiar with being loaded in the baskets and then flying back to the loft before we will do the first 20km training flight scheduled for 25 April 2017. We will be doing things a bit different this season as we will not be allocating the electronic rings onto the pigeons till after the first combine training flight with the OERF’s truck from Kroonstad due to take place on 20 May 2017. I do understand that this is frustrating to some fanciers as we all wish to know how many pigeons are in the lofts and if “mine” are still there. But please understand that we want to get the pigeons to 120 km’s before we fit the electronic rings. Once the 1st Kroonstad training flight is done we will fit the pigeons still in the loft with their electronic rings and then we will load a mid-week training result as well as the weekends training result for all to see from then onwards.

The proposed program this season for the winter series is:

Proposed race program for Carnival Lofts Winter 2017

Please note this is just a proposal and we still have the right to change it should the pigeons require a rest week in-between the races

The old birds race program we are still looking at and I will sent it to you as soon as I have taken a final decision on the old bird races as there has been a complaint from one of the organizations in the combine that if the 900 odd pigeons from Carnival Lofts on the young birds and 200 odd on the old birds gets liberated with the combine then we are creating a pull towards us and this is unfair to the 6000 odd young birds going to Johannesburg and 7000 odd old birds so we will only know after the next combine meeting early May what the outcome will be and if we will be liberating with the combine’s or not. I feel the time has now come that we make this an official club in an organization where every fancier who takes part here at CLRPC must decide to maybe enter their club team and their old birds as a member in the OERF then this “issue” with the loft being liberated with the combine will no longer be an issue as we are then all members of the OERF and SANPO, something to think about!!!

If you have some old birds here and you want to have them take part in the official races of the OERF this season let me know maybe we get enough support then we race 10 or 12 of the 18 OERF races with 4 or 5 teams of old birds the costs will be about R200 per pigeon to race in the OERF and get the recognition if your pigeon perhaps wins the fed or maybe finishes up in the top few ace pigeons, this could be very interesting I think so let’s see who is interested then we make a few teams of Carnival Lofts and we race all our old birds in the Combine officially!!!

Final race - report from the trainer

Pedigree of the winner

Pedigree + statement from the breeder

Hello Herman

If you like you are welcome to post this 1 : 1 as a statement of the breeder on your website.

Hello Herman

I am very proud to win Hot Spot 3 and now the final race.

The 173 which I named PARADISE DAISY is a grandchild of my NL - 5011 from 2006 who has bred me several top performers especially at the Carnival Loft.

175 / PARADISE CINDERELLA by the way who won the HS 3 with 303 KM is a direct daughter from NL - 5011 ! 173 took second place in that race - shoulder to shoulder.

NL - 5011 also bred PARADISE WINGMAN who was 4th in the Carnival Final Race some years ago.

NL - 5011 is also father to PARADISE JACOB and grandfather to PARADISE TILO which performed very well in the Carnival Final Race some years ago.

The NL - 5011 comes from a family of Dutch winners. His father NL- 119 was a Regional Ace-Cock with many top 10 prices in his carreer.

I have successfully crossed that NL - 5011 family with pigeons from top-lofts Kurt Weitkamp (300 family), Günter Prange (Ringlose and van Loon family), Hubert Borker (Blue Belle / Ringlose), Jan Lotterman (Branco Junior / Koopman) and Heinz Meier, Rahden (Schellens family).

I sure hope that my 10-year-old NL - 5011 will breed me some more good ones.
I better make sure to put some children in my breeding loft so I keep his exceptional genes for the future.

I thank you Herman and your team for an exciting race season 2016 / 2017.

And I would also like to point out one more fact to all participants :
Last year I have had a bad year at the Carnival Race as I have lost all my remaining pigeons step by step just before the final race. All of them !
And - did I take the decision to give up and send no more birds ?
NOT AT ALL ! I have taken the decision to breed even better birds 2016 and not to give up. Because that is not in my nature. So let us all take that lesson, breed exceptionally good birds 2017 and make that race even bigger and more competitive.
I am looking forward to the 2017 / 2018 summer season. My pigeons will be there.

Greetings to all from Melle in Germany
Andreas Moller
